Gail Clifford on Goodreads wrote:

This book isn’t light reading—it’s dense, reflective, and demands your attention. It feels like something you do, not just flip through. The author's words are written with love, clarity, and genuine concern, and that tone comes through in every chapter.

One of the early points that really struck me was the discussion around toxic relationships, especially toxic friendships. It made me think of people I know who are struggling with toxic family members—relationships they can’t easily walk away from. What do you do when someone is negative, selfish, and draining, but they're family? That’s a tough one, and this book brings up the kind of insight that sparks those difficult, necessary questions.

The examples using named characters really helped illustrate the lessons—those mini-stories painted a clear picture of the right and wrong ways to respond in tough situations. I did feel that the book covered a wide range of topics, and at times the advice felt a bit repetitive across different scenarios. In fact, I think each main idea could easily stand alone as a short booklet—something you could spend more focused time on.

Still, the sincerity and care of the author come through in every page. You can feel that they genuinely want to help others, and that makes the message even more powerful.

Thank you for this thoughtful, compassionate work, Scott.
